county fair bee
I need to find a way to front light the subject area when I fire up my night vision image capturing camera, as I have no idea how big this cat really was last night. Maybe I can whip up an array of IR LEDs and a power supply, animals can't see into the infrared spectrum can they? (I know that bees can, but who wants to run around photographing bees at night?)

Becky and I saw War of the Worlds last night at Paseo Pasadena. What a wonderful Summer "escape" film the movie was; scary, large scale, solid line between bad and good, not a bunch of heavy thinking involved, big effects, blood and guts ...
But it was no match to the original film made in the 1950s.

Had dinner and drinks at the bar at P.F. Chang's, and this morning I'm getting ready for my last day at Disney Buena Vista Home Entertainment. I'm going to miss that 16 floor view looking North over Burbank. Maybe I'll treat myself to a Bob's Big Boy combination for lunch ...

The lights over the nocturnal animals in the Nocturnal Animals House at the zoo are red in the human-visible spectrum. Mebbe that work.

That might work, and I'm sure that a camera biased towards receiving infrared light would love to see red light. I shoud see if I can find a darkroom bulb to put into a clamp on lamp base.

I was also thnking that I could just string a row of those mini white Christmas lights along the fence to give a good base amount of light. I'm sure that after a coule of days, the wild critters would get accostomed to the light.

grand illusion
I think Chuck and Rick Baker(the hollywood special effects makeup artist guy) are scheeming and placing these animals in front of the camera and then posting it here. Thats what I think. :=) Didn't I see Rick in some of those pics of your last house party???
